Innovative Behavioral Health Care Center Enlarges its Footprint Locally and Nationally with Integrated Marketing Plan

Established in 1969, the Award-Winning Turning Point Behavioral Health Care Center located at 8324 Skokie Boulevard, Skokie, Illinois, is an outpatient mental health center that exists to provide comprehensive mental health services to residents in communities throughout metropolitan Chicago. Kick Start Marketing Chicago created an integrated marketing plan for Turning Point to help increase media coverage and awareness of its vital niche as a community-based health care center with a strong record of innovation, creativity and steadfast commitment to providing solid support to those requiring services regardless of their ability to pay. The integrated marketing plan included a PR campaign, monthly subscriber newsletters, social media policy and plan, and the production of a series of videos telling Turning Point’s story for potential donors and investors.

Results: A year-round media campaign planning allowed Turning Point to be in the public eye at regular intervals with real-time announcements of agency news, awards and events. Major news coverage included features in Chronicle of Philanthropy and Social Work Today, as well as Chicago Public Radio’s “Afternoon Shift” and WTMX Chicago’s (101.9 FM) “Mix Matters”. Regular emails to supporters have helped increase attendance at events including the annual Town Hall Meeting and fundraiser. Short documentary videos are helping tell the story of Turning Point’s impact to a wider audience, including potential partners and investors. We have also produced a growing library of mental health self-care tips, that provide a free online resource for individuals looking for support and inspiration for better mental health.
